Hello viewers!! Todays blogpost is going to be about my video for assignment two. This assignment was an interview. For this project I got to interview Grace Jurczak. The video was to be 60-90 seconds. The point of this interview was to learn about your interviewee and learned how to shoot clips for interviews. We also learned how to do voice overs.
I got to ask Grace questions about her summer and what she did. Not only did I learn that, but i also learned a little more about her. Some questions I asked her were like..."what DID you do this summer", I also asked what the highlights and down pours of her summer were. Now the questions stated above really only pertain to her summer. I actually got to learn a little more about her.
One thing I learned about grace she's only been in Olathe for about 3 years. Before this she lived off State Line. She moved to Olathe in middle school. I also learned she cheers at KC cheer, an that she made level 5. I also learned that she went to the lake and did the english summer assignment.
Overall learned that grace had a pretty decent summer. I also learned something through the learning aspect. I learned that when you are doing an interview and there isn't another person to film for you and the interviewee, you have to speak loudly! And if you are doing an interview when its just the person getting interviewed in the shots, you must use a microphone set or headphones! The camera may be able to catch your voice, but when you upload it, it may not be the best sound quality.
I also learned that when you do voice overs ALWAYS type and write down your script. You do this for many reasons. 1. You may lose the first voice over and have to do it all over. 2. Maybe you do a group project and only one of you has the voice over and ends up not showing up that day... :( You always want to have an extra copy of everything you do. Also in premiere pro you must save as you go!! Sometimes you cannot always trust computers to automatically save it for you.
In conclusion I would like to say that I really enjoyed this project. I really love collaborating with my peers and getting to know them! What i learned from this video is have fun and be creative. One thing I did get critiqued on was that I should spread out my intro throughout the video so it isn't as long. I will re-edit this and I will upload both the original and revised one to show my progress.
THANKS FOR READING!! <3
